Intertops Kicks Off 25th Birthday Celebrations with $25,000 March Madness Bracket
It's been twenty-five years since Intertops took the very first wager and this month they begin a yearlong birthday celebration with a free $25,000 March Madness Bracket. All through the silver anniversary year, the site that started it all in online gambling in 1996 will be giving away trips to major sporting events including Super Bowl XLIII, the NFL game in London, the MLB All Star Game, the tennis US Open, the PGA Championship, the BCS Championship and the NCAAB 2009 final plus NHL season tickets.
"It's hard to believe it has been twenty-five years since we took the first sports-betting wager!" said Michl Posch of Intertops. "So much has happened since then - online betting, online casino games, online poker, mobile gaming. We're always adding something new and exciting for our players. We've also always made it a top priority to provide the very best customer service. Over all these years, we've earned our customers' trust by living up to our promise to make deposits and withdrawals quick and easy."
The free March Madness Bracket is the first special offer in the anniversary celebrations. The challenge is to pick the winner in all 63 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship games. The prize is $25,000 and tickets to the Final Four 2009. If more than one punter picks all 63 correctly, the cash prize will be split and the tickets will be allocated by draw. Even if nobody picks the perfect bracket, the full $25,000 will still be awarded and split between those with the most correct picks.
As soon as the NCAA brackets are announced on March 16th, players can enter their picks at www.Intertops.com/sportsbook. They'll have until the start of the first round games on March 20th to enter their selections. (The Opening Round game will not be included in the contest.)
In keeping with the "25" theme, Intertops is also giving two special 25% bonuses on deposits made between March 17th and 23rd and ahead of the Final Four tournament between April 5th and 7th - that means up to a total of $500 free money.
"We've taken a lot of bets in twenty-five years," said Posch. "This is always the most exciting time of the year - the crazy March Madness days provide us with the most action during the year outside of the NFL season."
As always, Intertops welcomes American players to their online casino, poker room and sportsbook. For further information on Intertops Casino, Intertops Poker or Intertops Sportsbook, please contact affiliate@intertops.com
About Intertops: Intertops was founded in 1983 in London with a UK Bookmakers License and relocated to Austria in 1992. They accepted the world's first online bet in 1996. In 2000, the innovative company developed the first igaming WAP sites, enabling it to be the first to accept mobile bets. By 2003 Intertops.com began online poker operations, progressing to online skill-based gaming in under a year.

RICKY HATTON v FLOYD MAYWEATHER - latest odds
Saturday night sees the fight of the decade take place at Las Vegas as Britain's Ricky Hatton aims for greatness on a grand scale when he takes on Floyd Mayweather.
The American pretty boy is generally regarded as the finest pound for pound fighter on the planet and victory for Hatton would propel him into the pantheon of all-time greats.
This fight has sent tremors across the betting industry thanks to the sheer weight of money on this fight. At Sportingbet it's no different, with bets struck over the last six months on this epic contest.
Now with just hours to go the Sportingbet traders go into the fight with mixed feelings as Affiliate Sportsbook Manager Chris Graham explains, "We'd all like Ricky Hatton to win as his courage and commitment all there for all to see but if he wins we're looking at a big payout on Sunday morning that will leave us with a more painful head than Ricky or Floyd's! Over the last week we've saw bundles of cash for The Hitman and his price has gone as short as 33/20. We're hoping The Pretty Boy can keep a smile on our face over the weekend."
Here are Sportingbet's latest odds on the contest:
- Fight Winner Floyd Mayweather 11/20 Draw 22/1
- Ricky Hatton 33/20
- Total Rounds Over 11.5 Rounds 2/5 Under 11.5 Rounds 2/1
- Hatton to win fight and win BBC Sports Personality 3/1
- Fight to end in Rounds 1 - 4 7/1

NFL Week 2 Recap - Things look bad for 0-2 starters
Ten teams - Buffalo, Miami, New York Jets, Kansas City, New York Giants, Philadelphia, St. Louis, Atlanta, Oakland and New Orleans - are 0-2. (Three of those teams in the bad AFC East.)
And here's the bad news for them: only five teams (out of 59) since 2000 have rebounded from a 0-2 start to make the playoffs. Since the NFL expanded to a 16-game schedule in 1978, 26 teams that started 0-2 reached the playoffs.
Here's a look at what has gone wrong for each club:
* Buffalo Bills - Offense. Rookie running back Marshawn Lynch has been solid with 154 yards rushing on 37 carries and a TD, but the passing offense has been not good. QB J.P. Losman only has a dismal 251 total yards through the air in two games, and the Bills leading receiver is Roscoe Parrish with 81 yards. Buffalo has 23 first downs to 47 for its opponents.......to read rest of article visit NFL News at the Betting Directory

Belmont: Gateway to the Breeders' Cup
Among the stars is Rags to Riches, returning to horse racing on Saturday following minor physical setbacks that sidelined her after becoming the first filly in 102 years to win the Belmont Stakes.
After the daughter of A.P. Indy captured the third jewel of the Triple Crown on June 9, there was talk she'd take on the boys in the BC Classic. But now her goal is the BC Distaff and she's using the $250,000 Gazelle Handicap for 3-year-old fillies at 1 1/8 miles as prep.
Rags to Riches breezed six furlongs in 1:14 4/5 in her final workout on Sept. 8 for the Grade 1 race, galloping out seven furlongs in 1:27 3/5.
Trainer Todd Pletcher was pleased. "I thought she looked good and galloped out strongly.....to read rest of article, visit Horse Racing News at the Betting Directory.

NFL Football Betting Preview: Ravens - Bengals
The Bengals (-2.5 on WagerWeb.com; O/U: 40.5) have one of the league's top offenses, with a trio unmatched by most teams in quarterback Carson Palmer, running back Rudi Johnson and receiver Chad Johnson. Palmer completed 62.3 percent of his passes last year for a career-high 4,035 yards and 28 touchdowns, while Rudi Johnson rushed for 1,309 yards and 12 TDs and Chad Johnson caught 87 passes for 1,369 yards and seven scores.
Palmer is fully recovered now from his devastating 2005 knee injury, and Chad Johnson, for one, expects big things for himself and the Cincy offense this season.
"I'm bringing sexy back for this year. It's that Ocho Cinco. It's going to be a beautiful season. Trust me, it's going to be a good year," Johnson said.
Offense hasn't been the problem for the Bengals, who have gotten off to fast starts the past two seasons (4-0 in 2005 and 3-0 in 2006) and have beaten the Ravens four of the their defense that caused them to go 8-8 last year.
Defense is the name of the game for the Ravens, who are the defending AFC North 2006 regular season on a tear, going 9-1. Baltimore has arguably the best defensive unit in the league, led by All-Pros Ray Lewis and Ed Reed....to read rest of this article visit NFL News at the Betting Directory

The Big Game: Saints vs. Colts
The Saints won their last three games of the preseason to head into the regular season on a high note, and they will be led into Indianapolis by Drew Brees who had the third-highest quarterback rating in the NFL last season. Brees also has a lot of weapons at his disposal with running backs Reggie Bush and Deuce McAllister, and receiver Marques Colston.
The Saints also added youth and experience to the offense with 11-year veteran David Patten joining the team from Washington and rookie Robert Meachem out of Tennessee. Colston was perhaps the biggest surprise of last season, but the receiving corps took a hit after he went down with an injury. There is also pressure on Bush after he had a brilliant second half to his rookie season, showing why he was a Heisman winner and the No. 2 overall pick coming out of college. The Saints' defense was also underrated last season, coming in at 11th in yards allowed per game. However, they were 23rd against the run.....to read rest of article visit NFL News at the Betting Directory.

NFL Preseason: Friday Football Games Betting Previews
Baltimore Ravens (1-2) at Atlanta Falcons (2-1), 7:30 p.m. ET: If you read my article on Monday and bet on the Falcons to cover at home against the Bengals you were a winner, as Atlanta won the game 24-19. QB Joey Harrington was quite solid vs. Cincinnati, going 13-for-24 for 164 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. However, that was against a not-so-good Bengals defense.
The Ravens, meanwhile, looked great in their preseason opener, a 29-3 rout of the Philadelphia Eagles, but have dropped their past two games and haven't scored more than 12 points in either. Baltimore did get some good news this week when Jonathan Ogden was activated off the PUP list and practiced on Tuesday. ...to read rest of article visit NFL news at the Betting Directory

NFL Preseason: Young QB's in Week 4 Spotlight
The final week of NFL preseason action gets underway on Thursday as football teams are making their final cuts. Brady Quinn, Rex Grossman, Matt Leinart and Jay Cutler will all be in the spotlight as the regular season looms. Here's a look at a pair of key Thursday matchups.
Cleveland at Chicago (-4)
This will be the final test for Brady Quinn as the Cleveland Browns head to Soldier Field to face the Chicago Bears, who have one of the best defenses in the league. The Browns' brass has been saying that the rookie quarterback is not going to open the season as a starter, but Quinn has made the decision more difficult with two sparkling performances against the Detroit Lions and the Denver Broncos.
The Bears have been attempting to correct their own woes at the quarterback position, and Rex Grossman has looked like he has improved over last season. But the young quarterback is still having troubles with taking the snap cleanly from the center, which is something that must drive head coach Lovie Smith nuts......to read rest of article visit NFL News at the Betting DirectoryLabels: betting, football, NFL, sports betting, sportsbooks

2007 NFL Preseason: NFC North vs. AFC
Heading into Week 3 of NFL football preseason action, the NFC North has three teams at 2-0 while the AFC heavy hitters are getting off to a slow start.
NFC North
The Bears, Lions and Packers are all 2-0 before their third preseason game, and the Bears gained a small bit of Super Bowl revenge with their 27-24 win at Indianapolis on Monday. However, the inconsistency of Rex Grossman reared its ugly head as the young quarterback threw an interception and fumbled three times, including twice from snaps. Grossman was accurate with his short passing, but he cannot afford to turn the ball over.
The Lions' offense has looked very potent so far this preseason, following a 548-yard performance with another 310 yards in a 23-20 at Cleveland. Jon Kitna was brilliant at Cleveland by going 12-for-16 for 137 yards and a touchdown, but allowing 20 fourth-quarter points to the Browns could be a cause for concern. Of course, those were third and fourth-string players out there at that point......to read rest of story, visit NFL News at the Betting Directory

2007 NFL Preseason Game: Saints at Chiefs
After struggling to find the end zone in their first two preseason football contests, the New Orleans Saints got their high-powered offense rolling again last Saturday against Cincinnati Bengals. The Saints defeated Cincinnati 27-19 as 3.5-point underdogs after scoring on their first three possessions. The Saints will try to keep their offense moving on Thursday when they head to Kansas City to battle the Chiefs.
In last week's contest Drew Brees had his best football game of the preseason despite throwing to a depleted collection of receivers. Both Marques Colston and Devery Henderson sat out Saturday, Colston to rest some sore legs and Henderson to give an injured hamstring some time to heal. Without his two biggest targets Brees completed 6-of-6 passes for 55 yards in his only series.
Deuce McAllister ended the first drive of the game with a six-yard touchdown run and finished the night with three carries for 15 yards. Reggie Bush also got in on the action with a second-quarter touchdown run, as he ended his night early as well with four carries for 13 yards. Third-string rookie running back Antonio Pittman ran in for a one-yard TD in the fourth quarter as the Saints scored more points against Cincinnati than they had in their first two preseason games combined......to read rest of article visit NFL News at the Betting Directory.

Hall of Fame 2007 NFL Game Preview
It’s almost here!
The 2007 NFL preseason kicks off on Sunday, August 5 when the Pittsburgh Steelers celebrate their 75th anniversary by taking on the New Orleans Saints.
The neutral-site game at Canton, Ohio will mark the first time in more than a decade that the Steelers take to the field without Bill Cowher on the sidelines. New head coach Mike Tomlin will hope to get his career started with a win, but seeing how this is a preseason game, he’ll more likely be happy to get through the game without an injury to one of his key players.
Neither the Steelers nor the Saints made any huge moves on the field during the offseason. The Saints didn’t have much retooling to do after winning the NFC South last year, but the Steelers looked due for a few changes after a disappointing 8-8 season......to read full article visit NFL News at the Betting Directory.

2007 Allstate 400 Auto Racing at the Brickyard
With seven auto races remaining before The Chase begins, NASCAR rolls into Indianapolis Motor Speedway this weekend for the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard.
Jeff Gordon continues to hold a comfortable lead in the driver standings heading into the weekend and he's the favorite at the Brickyard, but not just because of his points lead. Ever since NASCAR started holding a race at Indy in 1994, Gordon has had the most success of any driver on the track. Since winning NASCAR's inaugural race at Indy in 1994, Gordon has seen the checkered flag at the Brickyard three more times with his last win coming there in 2004. The only other driver to win more than once at Indy during that span was Dale Jarrett, who crossed the finish line first in both 1996 and 1999....to read rest of article visit NASCAR NEWS at the Betting Directory.

2007 Canadian Open Golf Betting Preview
Even though this tournament takes place a week after the British Open and just two weeks before the PGA Championship, the field isn't totally lacking star power. Jim Furyk is back to defend the Canadian Open title he won last season at Hamilton Golf and Country Club.
Furyk shot a 14-under par last year to edge Bart Bryant by one stroke. Some other big names slated to be in attendance at Angus Glen this weekend include Vijay Singh, who won the Open in 2004 at Glen Abbey, Mark Calcavecchia, 2005 Open champion at Shaughnessy Golf and Country Club and Canadian Mike Weir.
Weir may be Canada's best hope to win the homeland open this weekend after finishing tied for eighth at last weekend's British Open. Weir also tied for eighth two weeks earlier at the AT&T National, marking his only Top 10 finishes this season....to read rest of article visit Golf News at the Betting Directory.

Whitney Handicap: All in the Family for Decades
The Whitney Handicap isn't very old compared to other Saratoga stakes like the Travers. When Black Mania won the inaugural in 1928, Petee-Wrack captured the 64th Travers.
But the Whitney is historic in its own right, named for a family whose horses have won every major race in the United States. Harry Payne Whitney's Regret was the first filly to capture the Kentucky Derby in '15 and earned Horse of the Year honors.
Cornelius Vanderbilt Whitney, most often referred to as C. V., inherited his father's stable in '30 and became the third generation of Whitneys heavily involved in horse racing.
On May 17 that year, five months before the elder Whitney passed away, his 2-year-old Equipoise won the Keene Memorial at Belmont Park. Called the Chocolate Soldier by fans because of his elegance and symmetry, Equipoise had his juvenile season cut short by a hoof crack and only ran three-times as a 3-year-old.
But at 4 and 5, C. V., called 'Sonny' by close friends, cashed in when Equipoise captured a slew of stakes, including the Whitney in '32 with a purse of $5,400. Equipoise also was Horse of the Year for the first of two consecutive times..... to read rest of article go to Horse Racing News at the Betting Directory.

Get Ready for the 2007 NFL Season: NFL offseason moves
The moves that will likely have the biggest impact on how things shake down were made by the New England Patriots. New England must not like watching other AFC teams play in the Super Bowl, because they did all they could to make sure they return to the big show this NFL season. Last season, Tom Brady's receiving corps was very weak. This year he may have too many options when he passes.
The Pats added once-elite wideout Randy Moss, who could be a huge steal if he can revert back to something close to the numbers he produced in Minnesota. Also added were Donte' Stallworth and Wes Welker. Stallworth is a bit of an injury risk, but he's a reliable receiver and a deep threat when healthy. Welker is a great No. 3 receiver because he's quick out of the slot and can find defensive holes. The addition of linebacker Adalius Thomas on defense should improve a Pats' D that was already one of the best in the league......to read rest of this article visit NFL News at The Betting Directory

Boxing Rematch: Wladimir Klitschko vs. Lamon Brewster
For anyone not familiar with the nicknames currently gracing boxing's largely nondescript heavyweight ranks, Dr. Steelhammer is current IBF and IBO title-holder Wladimir Klitschko, while the man they call Relentless is challenger Lamon Brewster. This will be the second time these two fighters will clash, and Klitschko will be out to avenge a defeat from three years ago. In that initial matchup back on April 10, 2004, Brewster won the vacant WBO Heavyweight title after delivering a fifth-round knockout to Klitschko.
That boxing fight is remembered for more than the mere fact that Brewster won the title. Klitschko easily won the first four rounds after dominating Brewster with an onslaught of punches, which included knocking Brewster down at the end of the fourth round. In the fifth round, Brewster......to read remainder of article, visit Boxing News at The Betting Directory

2007 NASCAR Pepsi 400
The Nextel Cup Series returns to Daytona International Speedway this weekend, where Kevin Harvick will be looking for his second win at Daytona this season in the Pepsi 400.
Five months ago Harvick won the Daytona 500 by a fender over Mark Martin at the finish line. Harvick hasn’t claimed the checkered flag on the Nextel Cup circuit since, but he does have seven Top 10 finishes and a pair of victories in the Busch Series.
The favorite in the second go-round at Daytona will likely be Jeff Gordon or Tony Stewart. Point’s leader Jeff Gordon just missed his fifth win of the season at New Hampshire last weekend and had to settle for second place behind Denny Hamlin. Gordon has the most wins of any active driver at Daytona, having won there six times during his career. The last time Gordon saw the checkered flag at Daytona was in the 2005 Daytona 500, while his last 400-mile race win at Daytona came back in 2004…….to read rest of article visit NASCAR NEWS at the Betting Directory.

2007 AFL Playoffs Season
The Wild Card Round of the 2007 AFL playoffs kicks off on Friday night, as the journey to Arena Bowl XXI begins.
Friday’s playoff opener pits the Orlando Predators against the Philadelphia Soul. Both AFL teams went 8-8 during the regular season, but Philadelphia has a slight edge having defeated Orlando 63-49 to close out the regular season in Week 17.
The Soul will need another solid game from veteran quarterback Tony Graziani if they hope to repeat their win over the Predators. Graziani finished the season with 2,841 passing yards, 64 touchdowns and eight interceptions. The Predators, who made it all the way to the Arena Bowl last season, have a good veteran quarterback of their own in Shane Stafford. Stafford passed for 4,284 yards with 76 touchdowns and 10 interceptions this season, and has two reliable receivers in Javarus Dudley and T.T. Toliver.
The Wild Card Round continues on Saturday with two games, featuring the Columbus Destroyers and the Tampa Bay Storm, and the Colorado Crush and the Kansas City Brigade.
The Destroyers and Storm engaged in a hard-fought battle during the regular season when Tampa Bay edged Columbus 34-32 as a 4.5-point underdog. The Storm lost starting quarterback John Kaleo to a wrist injury in that game and have relied on Brett Dietz to lead their offense ever since. There is a chance Kaleo could be ready to return on Saturday, but most likely Dietz will be behind center for Tampa Bay. The Destroyers finished a disappointing 7-9 during the regular season, but could right the ship quickly in the 2007 playoffs if QB Matt Nagy can find standout receiver Damien Groce on a regular basis.
The Crush and Brigade both have heavy-hitting offenses, but on defense the edge has to go to Kansas City, which could be the difference on Saturday. However, the Crush and Brigade squared off twice this season and Colorado came away with a win in both contests. Colorado edged Kansas City 45-42 on the road and beat them 44-40 at home. A possible shootout could be coming up on Saturday between Colorado QB John Dutton and Kansas City pivot Raymond Philyaw. Dutton threw for 4,320 yards with 84 touchdowns this season, while Philyaw topped him with 4,338 yards and 85 touchdowns.
In Sunday’s lone playoff battle the Utah Blaze battle the Los Angeles Avengers. The Avengers may have finished the regular season with a better record than the Blaze (9-7 to 8-8), but Utah picked up two of those wins against Los Angeles. The Blaze defeated the Avengers 47-37 on the road and rocked them 76-63 back home. Utah has one of the best offenses in the AFL league led by Joe Germaine and his 107 touchdown passes. The Blaze also boast receiver Siaha Burley, who led the league with 166 receptions for 2,129 yards and 49 touchdowns. LA’s chances on Sunday will depend on quarterback Sonny Cumbie. Cumbie threw for 4,370 yards and 83 touchdowns this season, and he’ll have to match Germaine stride for stride to get a win for the Avengers.

Boxing - Holyfield vs. Savarese
It may seem like a joke, but at the grizzled age of 44 Evander Holyfield is attempting to become Heavyweight champion of the world again. To get that title shot, Holyfield might not even have to face a much younger man. The “Real Deal’s” next boxing fight is coming up on June 30 at the Don Haskins Center in El Paso, where he’ll face 41-year-old Lou Savarese in a 10-round non-title bout.
The way old boxers are hanging around way past their primes and stepping back into the boxing ring after supposedly retiring these days, perhaps they should make a boxing senior circuit.
Since making his return to the ring a little more than a year ago, Evander Holyfield has said he wants to win back a heavyweight title by the time he turns 46. You would expect the PGA tournament directly following the U.S. Open to be missing most of the top golfers in the world. But that won?t be the case at this weekend?s Travelers Championship. The field might not include new daddy Tiger Woods, Jim Furyk or surprise U.S. Open champ Angel Cabrera, but it will still have Vijay Singh and Masters champ Zach Johnson.
The Travelers Championship (formerly the Buick Championship) is played at the TPC at River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut. The course boasts some difficult holes, but it will be nothing compared to the adventures some golfers had last weekend at Oakmont.
The defending champion of this event is J.J. Henry. He finished 14-under par at River Highlands last year to give him a three-stroke win over Hunter Mahan and Ryan Moore, who tied for second at -11. Henry will be back to defend his title this year, and a number of other former winners at River Highlands will also be back in the hunt for another title……to read rest of article visit Golf News at The Betting Directory.Labels: betting, gambling, golf, sports betting, sportsbooks

Wimbledon 2007: Betting Preview
Nobody will be happier to bid goodbye to the clay than world No. 1 Roger Federer. Once again Federer failed to complete the career Grand Slam after losing to Rafael Nadal in the French Open final. Federer should feel much more confident on the green grass of Wimbledon, considering he has not only won but dominated this tournament the last four years. Federer beat Nadal in last year's final, 6-0, 7-6, 6-7, 6-3, and easily defeated hard-hitting American Andy Roddick in the 2004 and 2005 finals. Federer's first Wimbledon final victory came against Mark Philippoussis in 2003.
The last man not named Federer to be called "winner" at Wimbledon was Aussie Lleyton Hewitt in 2002. If anyone is going to keep Federer from making it five in a row this month in England, it looks like either Hewitt or Nadal has the best chance to do it. However, Hewitt has lost his last nine tennis matches against Federer.
The defending women's Wimbledon champion is Amelie Mauresmo. Wimbledon became Mauresmo's second career Grand Slam title after also winning the Australian Open last year. Mauresmo faced Justine Henin in the final and defeated her 2-6, 6-3, 6-4. Despite never winning at Wimbledon, Henin may be the woman to beat in England this year, considering she is coming off her third straight French Open title and playing some of the best tennis of her impressive career.
Overall, the women's field is much more competitive than the men's and has a number of title contenders. This includes Ana Ivanovic, who fell to Henin in the French Open final; Venus Williams, a three-time Wimbledon champ who last won in 2005; Maria Sharapova, the 2004 champion; and Serena Williams, who won back-to-back Wimbledon titles in 2002 and 2003. Others who shouldn't be overlooked include dark horse contenders like Jelena Jankovic, Svetlana Kuznetsova and Nadia Petrova.

2007 NASCAR Pocono 500
For the second week in a row a NASCAR driver claimed his first career win on the Nextel Cup circuit last week. Martin Truex Jr. took the lead late in last week’s Autism Speaks 400 at Dover International Raceway a week after Casey Mears made his first stop at victory lane at Lowe’s Motorspeedway. For another first-timer to win the Pocono 500 this weekend, they’ll have to successfully navigate the always-interesting Pocono triangle, while competing with the Nextel Cup circuit speed demons on the extra-long straightaway.
Last year Denny Hamlin swept Pocono with a victory in the Pocono 500 and a win in the Pennsylvania 500 a few weeks later. Hamlin has come close numerous times this year, but is still looking for his first win this season and the Pocono triangle could be the stage he needs to do it.
Point’s leader Jeff Gordon still has a very comfortable lead over second-place Jimmie Johnson by 152 points. Gordon has three career wins at Pocono, but the last one came way back in 1998. Johnson pulled of a Hamlin-like sweep of his own at Pocono when he won both races that were held there in 2004. Johnson’s car has performed so well this year that he seems to be challenging for the race car lead every week. If he gets the lead at Pocono he may be hard to catch due to the very long straightaway.
Aside from Gordon the only other three-time winner at Pocono expected to race this weekend is Dale Jarrett. It would be practically a miracle if Jarrett ended up leading the pack across the finish line at Pocono again this week, considering his best finish of the season so far is 22nd in the Daytona 500.
Before Hamlin dominated Pocono in 2006, Kurt Busch and Carl Edwards won there in 2005 but both drivers haven’t had much luck this season and are still looking for their first victory. Also looking for a little luck is Tony Stewart. The former Nextel Cup champion has been dogged by bad luck and bad cars repeatedly this season and it’s likely cost him a couple wins. Stewart tamed the Pocono triangle back in 2003 and a win there this weekend would vault him back into the Race for the Chase.

Paris Hilton Prison Specials!
The news that Paris Hilton was getting sent to the chokey was greeted at the office of leading Irish Bookmaker, Paddy Power, with scenes of jubilation not seen since Paddy Power announced that he was giving up tipping.
But for reasons unknown, some crazy people are trying to ruin their fun.
An online petition will be sent to Governor Schwarzenegger imploring him “to pardon Paris Hilton for her mistake” pointing out that she had “leading roles on the reality series ‘The Simple Life’ and in the remake of the Vincent Price horror classic ‘House of Wax’ – which, if anything, seem like reasons to keep her locked up!
With the socialite set for the slammer, it would be criminal not to have a look at their Paris Hilton Prison Specials!
- Allowed to keep & use her mobile 3 - 1
- Her sentence to be extended for bad behaviour 4 - 1
- Charge fellow inmates for signed autographs 8 - 1

2007 US Open Golf at Oakmont Country Club
This year’s edition of the 2007 U.S. Open will have a tough time living up to the drama that played out on the final holes at Winged Foot last year. The 2006 U.S. Open will likely be remembered more for Phil Mickelson’s meltdown than it will be for Geoff Ogilvy winning the tournament.
Mickelson had a two-shot lead with three holes left to play. He bogeyed 16 and pulled out a par on 17 to still hold a one-shot lead with only the 18th left to play. Anything that could have gone wrong for Mickelson on that hole did, as he mucked up his drive, ripped his approach off a tree, buried his second approach in the sand and the flew over the green while attempting an escape from the beach. The whole embarrassing travesty resulted in a double bogey and handed Ogilvy his first major victory. Ogilvy finished the tournament at five-over par, while the impressive trio of Mickelson, Jim Furyk and Colin Montgomerie were all one stroke back at +6.
The scores likely won’t be as high this year, but it won’t be a walk in the park for golf’s best at this year’s 2007 U.S. Open locale, Oakmont Country Club, June 11-17….to read remainder of article visit Golf News at The Betting Directory.

Fear Factor Rears Its Head in
Welcome to 2007 horse racing's Fear Factor. The television series that ran from 2001 through last year captured the attention of many viewers.
Racing's version goes back many decades. I'm talking years and years. But the measure of success depends on your point of view. Let me count the ways.
In '73, only four horses challenged Secretariat in the third leg of his Triple Crown sweep for obvious reasons. Five years later the same number tried to derail Affirmed's gallop into Triple Crown history, among them Alydar, the runner-up all three times.
Fast forward to '94, when Go for Gin won the Kentucky Derby and Tabasco Cat took the Preakness. Only four others challenged the pair in the
Three years later, Silver Charm and Free House scared away challengers and only five showed up. Unfortunately, one of them was Touch Gold, who denied Silver Charmer the Triple Crown by three-quarters of a length.
